The only problem i would have using the ardent for infusion would be it seems like it wouldn't hold 1 cup coconut oil,14 grams flower and 2 tablespoons powdered sunflower lecithin. That's the recipe i use all the time.I take the infused coconut oil and put it directly into 00 caps and at that ratio it makes them about almost 5mg,4.92 i believe.I live in NY so i don't know the % of thc content and just go by most being around 10%.When i said strong i should have clarified and stated strong for me.I like to micro for pain most of the time so i can function and with 5mg increments i can take more if need be.I usually take 2-3 which is 10-15 mg every 4-6 hours.I also like to make big batches so i only have to do it once a month or so.1 cup makes around 250 00 caps. When i don't have things that need to be done i bake smore's or reese's peanut butter bakes i buy from walmart with ghee and cut them into 24 squares which are around 40 mg a piece. My bakes are also the things i share with friends, the wife likes them too.Īs for 2 cup minimum i'm fine with that.I would use 2 cups coconut oil.28 grams flower.2 tablespoons sunflower lecithin. From what you're saying about the MBM there's isn't much difference between 1-4 hour cycle so i guess first try will be the 1 hour cycle to test it.Thank You! I own 2 Magical Butter Machines, but don't use them much anymore because of the 2 cup minimum. Then the (now very smelly) herb can be ground to fine powder, mixed with oil or nut butter and lecithin, and put back into Lift for another 1:45 cycle.

Things can be as simple as inserting 1/2 oz flower into LIft, pressing a button, and waiting 1:45 for smell-free decarb to finish. I've tried that method, and it works well, if lecithin is also used. It's the best MJ appliance I own.Īrdent recently did research that showed Lift can be used for infusion. Rather than buying MBM, I'd strongly recommend Ardent Lift instead. Metal pans/bowls, grinder, and toaster oven work better than MBM for smaller batches. Many other recipes come close, including MBM. The best recipe I've found so far is BrassNwood's method, adapted to flower. The most important part of infusion might be the use of lecithin, which improves absorption of edibles for most people.

My experience is that all post-decarb infusion methods work about the same, and I've found little difference between 1 hr and 4 hr 160 F in MBM. The MBM recommendation to infuse oil for 1 hr at 160 F is no more authoritative than any random internet post, and isn't optimal.Ī few years ago I called them, and 4 hr 160 F was recommended by the person I talked to.īecause different people prefer different amounts of post-decarb infusion, insufficient research has been done on it.
